I always have my cellphone with me, of course… Unfortunately it’s got a built-in digital camera, which is quite bad, but it’s really convenient to use so I’m used to shoot a lot of pictures with it. Most of the shots are meant to be trashed, but sometimes, with some software tricks, I get that kind of old-fashioned pictures I do like… So here are some…

I’m back to recording Untimely Tales now i’ve played that show at Jean Vigo cinéma. I now realize I shifted from that exclusive task, recording, to handling two more things.
First of all, I had to train a lot on playing some songs in an acoustic version, resulting into the recording of the Invisible birds EP. I played live three times (including two open mics for training), and I had to worry a little about it because I didn’t play live for almost five years, and played in an alone situation only once. It’s cool because now I know I can play live again whenever it will be needed.
Then I also started to worry about art cover and photography. I already told you I spent some time collecting picture ideas on a tumblr blog, and i’m taking more and more pictures. I’m actually defining some art cover mood for the project. I also bought a dedicated domain name, www.untimelytales.com, for i’m going to create a website, with music, pictures and lyrics… there is only a blank page at that time…
I spent a lot of time time on vocals the two last weeks, in order to find a good way to record them properly. At the moment i’ve got three good takes, for three songs, and last week I totally completed the recording of Curtain (except the backing vocals) : drums & noises, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, voice, backing vocals, violin, woodwinds, clarinet.
Because of all of this, I finally decided to make a short, 9 tracks album, which will include (order not defined yet) : Curtain, Invisible birds, The narrow road home, The frightening door, A useless tale, An untimely tale, Here, City lights, Using mirrors.

So i was pleased to play those songs for the first time live yesterday, at Cinéma Jean Vigo, opening for Simon Finn, Joolie Wood and Maja Elliot. Their show was amazing, actually…
The venue, an old cinéma, was really great, very good sound, and the staff welcoming. It was a real pleasure.
